Daisuke Hori, a Japanese man, has slept for only 30 minutes every day for 12 years. He believes this has helped him “double” his life. He trained his body and mind to work well even with very little sleep. He also says this helped him work better at his job. But what he said is really true or not? He said that “As long as you do sports or drink coffee an hour before eating, you can stave off drowsiness.”
Daisuke Hori was on a Japanese TV show called “Will You Go With Me?” for three days. The show wanted to see if he could really sleep so little. They found that he could get up after only 26 minutes of sleep and still feel good. He even went to work and the gym! Daisuke Hori started a group called “Japan Short Sleepers Training Association” in 2016. He teaches people how to sleep less. Over 2,100 people have learned from him.
But studies have found that sleeping less than the recommended amount can have a significant effect on human health. Regularly getting less than required amount (7-8 hours) can lead to physical and mental damage. If you don’t sleep enough, you might feel tired, grumpy, and have trouble thinking clearly.
