Zomato’s ‘Pure Veg’ Fleet, Zomato, the renowned food delivery platform, has recently launched a ‘Pure Veg Mode‘ and introduced a specialized ‘Pure Veg Fleet‘ in India, targeting customers who strictly follow a vegetarian diet. Founder and the CEO of the app Deepinder Goyal said that these additions were driven by customer feedback, particularly considering India’s significant vegetarian population, which stands as the largest globally.
Goyal turned to social media platform X to express his thoughts he wrote
Goyal explained how this new feature exclusively showcases restaurants that serve vegetarian cuisine. Additionally, orders made through this mode will be managed by Zomato’s dedicated “Pure Veg Fleet,” easily recognizable by their unique green uniforms and delivery packaging. The CEO made it clear that these delivery staff members will exclusively deliver orders from vegetarian cuisine and will not be involved in transporting non-vegetarian dishes. Moreover, they will avoid entering non-vegetarian restaurants while carrying the green delivery boxes.

Zomato’s recent decision stirred up a lot of talk on social media. People were concerned about the company’s choice of separating delivery workers based on their food preferences, fearing it could lead to unfair treatment, discrimination and arise division bet bnnween delivery executives.
